Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is an on-call position. Provides food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor or other main support on an on-call basis.

Unit Position Summary

• Daily irrigation of greenhouse plants as needed
• Cleaning and maintenance of greenhouse including plants and structure
• Monitoring crops for possible insects and pathogens
• Sanitizing and washing of pots and containers
• Plant propagation
• Weekly irrigation, pruning, trimming and rotation of interiorscape plants
• Maintenance of garden including: watering, weeding, mowing, deadheading and planting
• Daily monitoring of pond and its filtration system
• Seasonal feeding of koi fish
• Weekly pond cleaning

Desired Qualifications

Greenhouse/garden experience preferred, but not required.

Summary of Physical Demands

Must be able to run power equipment such as: mower, weed whacker, hedgers, rototiller and gator. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. Comfortable working in all weather conditions including severe weather. Must be comfortable on hands and knees for up to 6hrs. a day.
