Overview

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a world-class fusion energy research laboratory managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. PPPL is dedicated to developing the scientific and technological knowledge base for fusion energy. The Laboratory advances the fields of fusion energy and plasma physics research to develop the scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as an energy source for the world.

The successful candidate will oversee the creation of a US community-wide fusion website



Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of the website RFP, the Statement of Work
  • The compilation and editing of the “version 0” site
  • Coordinate with the website committee for prompt delivery of website material
  • Be the POC with the 3rd party developers
  • Compile and keep the job postings, internships, collaborations, news articles, etc. up to date.
  • Create original digital content (i.e. graphics, text, videos, etc.).
  • Ensure an aesthetic consistency while maintaining scientific accuracy of the site.
  • Interface with national and international fusion collaborators for content and representation.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BS or BA with a Science or Communication degree, experience in science communication (preferably fusion related)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in scientific communication (writing, videos, social media)
  • Basic knowledge of fusion energy science and the national/international fusion landscape.
  • Knowledge of basic computer editing software (MS Suite, Google Suite) and knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred.
  • Fluency with social media, video editing, graphic design preferred.
Working Conditions:

  • The work will be remote and the employee is expected to be available for meetings during normal business hours.
