GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will assist with college-wide budgeting, resource allocation, and financial analysis.

Lead- regardless of title, through positive influence. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budget variance, and other financial reports.Assist with building, maintaining and updating financial planning models and templates.Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; and may include making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.Support the annual budget process, including participating in training sessions with budget officers.Provide assistance for the external audit of the college and related entities. Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Have the presence, intelligence, demeanor, and verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively interact at all levels within and external to Kirkwood Community College.Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems.Ability to train individuals on budgeting and financial reporting as related to the position.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Must possess excellent organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities, and handle multiple tasks and projects. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.2-4 years related experience.Experience with PC’s and related software.Advanced knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Prior experience with Datatel Colleague system.Prior experience with OEPI funds.Prior experience with Colleague.
