Advertised Job Summary:

The University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Administrative Coordinator. The Administrative Coordinator position provides complex administrative support to the SOMG Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for supporting operational and strategic committees, project coordination, contract and affiliation agreement review and approval, and ensures positive supplier relationships. This position works directly with various stakeholder groups, students, faculty, staff, institutional and administrative offices, donors, American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and other similar agencies.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. Prior related experience in higher education and/or healthcare is preferred.


Knowledge of state fiscal procedures, practices and policies. Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to maintain consistent professional demeanor. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with various audiences. Skilled to analyze data and present ideas effectively. Ability to work independently. Proficient in all Microsoft software. Must be detail oriented. Ability to maintain confidentiality all in a professional manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required to create complex spreadsheets, documents and databases.
