Job responsibilities include:
Will develop, support and lead multiplatform methods for engaging partners, strategic identification, mapping and convening of organizations in building local partnerships, engaging all levels and types of community leaders. Will create partnership with communities, leading high-level deliberations with business, philanthropic, nonprofit, faith leaders, educators, social and health service professionals to build and sustain local and state partnerships. Will work directly with local school superintendents, city and county councils, non-profits, state agencies with goal of establishing growing numbers of local children’s cabinets.
Will develop training modules. Will partner with school systems on hiring, training, and creating supportive professional networks for coordinators. Will work with UofSC faculty in embedding training in degree programs, evaluating efficacy of navigators, and work with researchers in documenting the process and outcomes of whole child education. Will support the work of community school navigators (or coordinators) who are trained to execute whole child education strategies for school-university-community partnerships.
Will assist founding director and UofSC corporate/philanthropic giving in designing executing a ALL4SC fund-raising plan, with a focus on national philanthropies. Will cultivate relationships with funders, write proposals, meet with investors, and work with UofSC development team for face to face and virtual meetings and with team members in crafting proposals and engaging foundation program officers.
Will partner with consultants, the UofSC communication team members, ALL4SC web developers, and apply lessons learned to policy development work in South Carolina. Will coordinate face to face and virtual meetings in crafting strategies as well as working with key policy stakeholders in cultivating new policies. Will contribute to policy development and public engagement strategies. Will work closely with founding director and UofSC communications staff.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
Master’s degree in business related field and 5 years related program management experience, or bachelor’s degree and 7 years related experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in securing funding for nonprofits and social impact ventures.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proven ability to manage people and develop strategic university, school, community partnerships. Knowledge of community-based schooling, cross-sector partnerships, social policy development, and collaborative action for innovations in education and schooling. Knowledge of whole child education policies and practices. Knowledge of and experience working with national education reform organizatiions. Knowledge of and experience in developing entrepreneurial programs in public and private sector. Ability to work with senior leadership at universities, school districts, state agencies, and non-profits in developing strategic partnerships. Ability to lead educators and other professionals in developing community schools. Ability to develop and manage community school coordinators. Ability to secure write proposals and philanthropic funding. Ability to assess local, state, and federal policies and use data to inform policymakers. Ability to stay abreast of trends in higher education and PK-12 schooling.
