Advertised Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Compliance Services serves as a member of the Office of Compliance Services (OCS) and reports to the Associate Athletics Director and Assistant Athletics Director / Compliance. The position works in conjunction with OCS staff to implement NCAA, SEC, and University of South Carolina regulations related to athletic financial aid. Duties include but are not limited to oversight and management of the institution’s athletic financial aid program including coordinating administration, distribution, and monitoring of all athletically-related financial aid; developing and/or implementing rules education curriculum to provide effective updates on relevant legislation for administrators, student-athletes, and coaches; developing and/or implementing monitoring systems to ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University of South Carolina regulations; and representing OCS at selected departmental and university meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Master’s degree and 1 year related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and necessary compliance procedures, and/or working knowledge of financial aid processes, procedures and disbursement practices.


Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills (e.g. database design, word processing, compliance-related programs). Should possess high ethical standards and display integrity at all times. Manage time and tasks efficiently and effectively. Display appropriate conflict resolution behavior and take a positive attitude and constructive approach to all tasks.
