Associate Director - Haslam College of Business

Regular Full-time, Exempt, Market Range 11

The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee is seeking an associate director in the Undergraduate Programs Office.

The Undergraduate Business Programs Office provides a comprehensive academic advising program for 5,600 students in the Haslam College of Business. The office is responsible for academic advising, assists in curriculum delivery and enrollment management, progression decisions for nine majors, training of advisors, recruitment and orientation activities, scholarships, compilation and analysis of longitudinal data for business students, runs special programs, and makes referrals to campus and community resources.

In addition to supporting the academic advising mission of the Haslam College of Business's Undergraduate Programs Office, the associate director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the office and management of college level recruiting activities.  The position is responsible for the oversight of staff scheduling and assisting the executive director in overall leadership of the unit.  The associate director maintains a small advising load and teaches a section of the business first year seminar, BUAD 100 as well as other duties such as recruiting, college ambassador supervision, and event planning as required.



Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Seven plus years of experience in academic advising, student mentoring, training, or teaching. Five plus years of supervision experience including supervising other professionals as well as administrative staff.  Excellent communication skills. Candidates must have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the university.  

Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in an environment similar to the Haslam College of Business's Undergraduate Programs Office or other college advising office. Knowledge of UTK systems and processes.
