The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a full-time, exempt Program Manager for Operations in the Global Supply Chain Institute (GSCI).  The Program Manager provides ongoing oversight and management of three rapidly growing, major programs with GSCI: the Supply Chain Forum, GSCI Advisory Board, and Advanced Supply Chain Collaborative (ASCC).  S/he works independently to ensure program success through creating and implementing strategic plans, overseeing operations, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, executing all phases of project management, and creating and implementing assessment initiatives.  S/he collaborates closely with the department and college leadership teams as well as executives and senior business leaders from corporate partners and must represent GSCI and the University with the highest level of professionalism and accountability.   

Responsibilities:

    •    Devise and implement strategy, programs, and plans on an annual basis for the Supply Chain Forum, GSCI Advisory Board, and ASCC, ensuring programs successfully meet goals and objectives.
    •    Assess attainment of goals and objectives. Identify and implement strategies for improvement.
    •    Serve as point person for operations, ensuring success across dozens of programs and events in a variety of formats, both virtual, in-person, and hybrid. Provide work direction to administrative team and student workers.
    •    Construct, manage, and report financial operations across GSCI, ensuring buy-in, communication, and adherence to budget.
    •    Liaison to Financial Information Office ensuring full compliance with financial and human resources policies and procedures.
    •    Serve as primary contact for 10+ strategic partners and 75+ corporate partners, ensuring strong relationships and solving problems.
    •    Build relationships with current and prospective partners, establishing connections with relevant team members and faculty.
    •    Fill project manager role for new GSCI initiatives as required, for example, implementation of software systems, new processes or programs.
    •    Identify and undertake projects to improve the impact of GSCI programs and partnerships.



Qualifications
Qualifications:
 
Required Qualifications and Experience: 

    •    Bachelor’s Degree required
    •    Minimum two years of experience managing programs, projects, and/or an organization
    •    Willingness to meaningfully contribute to a high-performing team in an intense work environment that resembles a startup or entrepreneurial organization

Desired Qualifications and Experience: 
    •    Five or more years of experience showing progressive responsibilities in the areas of organizational and/or project management and/or a demonstrated propensity to succeed in such an environment
    •    Experience with account management, program management, budgets, and working in a complex team environment
    •    Familiarity with CRM systems
    •    Experience managing advisory boards, consortiums, or similar organizations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:
    •    The ability to work with multi-faceted groups of constituents to accomplish a high-level set of goals
    •    A developed prowess in balancing competing priorities to achieve good outcomes for an organization
    •    Financial competency to build and manage budgets across multiple revenue/cost centers
    •    The ability to lead a team of people, including successful management of peers and superiors, including faculty
    •    Project management skills including the knowledge to build and execute schedules, budgets, and scope documents

Preferred:
    •    Knowledge or base familiarity with the supply chain and/or business fields
    •    Political and coalition building skills necessary to succeed in a university environment
