Position Summary:

The Insights and Engagement Manager will ensure that alumni audience (i.e., young alumni, grad alumni, and students) efforts, including data, research, marketing, and programs, across SAA are managed successfully. This role will focus on working closely with SAA stakeholders to meet audience objectives and key results.

In this role you will:
  • Project manage audience efforts distributed across SAA teams; ensuring projects and programs are resourced successfully
  • Track audience objectives and key results and assist with the presentation of progress
  • Aid in the collection of audience data, using Excel and other tools, that are used to measure progress; Be a data wrangler - In close collaboration with our data systems team, manage data collection procedures across the organization (and Stanford schools) and across data systems; Process, clean, and verify data used for analysis
  • Prepare summary reports and organize meeting agendas for recurring audience stakeholder meetings
  • Assist with ad hoc audience projects, including marketing and events
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and schools to achieve the goals of the audience efforts
  • Work with internal and external teams to identify and implement new program strategies.
  • Maintain a commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.


To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university professionally both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
  • Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately, and the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to solve a variety of problems.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems.


In addition, preferred requirements include:
  • Project management experience, including working with project tools like Asana
  • Experience using Excel and other data tools preferred
  • Experience working with marketing personas and audiences
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility
  • Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately, and the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to solve a variety of problems.
