Primary Purpose of Department:

The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools, and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative, and service goals.

Primary Purpose of Position:

The primary role of a Systems Programmer/Specialist on the OneIT Servers and Storage team is to configure, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot issues on Windows Server Operating Systems as well as various storage and monitoring systems.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

-Managing and maintaining a Windows Server infrastructure.
-Designing, implementing, and managing a multi-site Active Directory environment.
-Managing and maintaining systems using PowerShell.
-Designing, implementing, and managing Group Policy.
-Understanding of security best practices.

Minimum Education/Experience:

-Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
-3-5 years of relevant experience
-Experience managing and maintaining a Windows server infrastructure environment.
-Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
-Experience using advanced PowerShell in an enterprise environment
-Communication and Team skills

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

-Knowledge of python programming language
-Deploy virtual servers in a hypervisor environment.
-Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
-Macintosh experience
-VMWare and Microsoft certification preferred.
-Working knowledge with iSCSI and Fiber Channel storage. -Excellent communication and team skills. Experience with cloud technologies.
