Job Summary:

The Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) Student Administrative Intern will work closely with the CTLE Faculty Support and Administrative Support Coordinators to accomplish various Administrative tasks. The Sheridan College CTLE is a faculty support and professional development center. This role offers the intern the ability to apply Administrative Skills learned through the student’s Business Program and continue to build administrative skills necessary in Administrative Workplaces such as: drafting business correspondence, drafting and distributing marketing material, and assisting customers. This role will be instrumental in increasing CTLE’s ability to continue to establish the center and provide various faculty support functions for Sheridan College.

Education/Qualifications:

•Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
•Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
•Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

•Desire to Learn – Eager to grow and take advantage of opportunities available, stretching to improve and gain knowledge and experience

•Basic Word Processing skills

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

•Administrative work indoors in an office environment.
•Occasionally will need to move office supplies, décor or equipment. Student must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
•Occasionally will need to move working locations between various offices or campus buildings

Responsibility/Duty:

•Provide a professional, helpful, welcoming atmosphere and a positive attitude for all guests of the CLH Office.
•Provide coverage for the front desk including answering phones, transfer calls, take messages, send and receive emails.
•Work with the professional staff to coordinate special projects.
•Assist with answering questions and providing tours of residence halls to potential students
•Communicate with the staff in the office on a regular basis
•Assist in making key packets, student IDs and help with other housing projects.
•Assist with advertising CLH events. Includes digital advertising, tabling, flyers, chalk signs and more.
•Required to attend all trainings and meetings as scheduled. Includes pre-employment training in August before school starts, professional development at least one time per month and diversity, equity and inclusion training.
•Other duties as assigned.
