General Summary
Eastern Michigan University announces a position vacancy for Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with coaching duties in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This is a one-year position for the 2021-22 academic year with reappointment for the 2022-2023 academic year, contingent on satisfactory work, academic achievement and completion of CSCS or CSCCA certification. Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.The Graduate Assistant will manage the strength and conditioning program for assigned teams, which may include, but are not limited to rowing and football.
Develop and coordinate programs that will assist the student athlete in developing overall physical strength.
Provide motivational encouragement, counsel, and supervision to student athletes to reach conditioning goal levels.QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree is required. Qualified candidates must be admitted to the EMU Graduate School. Eastern Michigan University sponsors 18 Division I varsity sports and is a member of the NCAA and Mid-American Conference.
