Position Highlights:

The University of Arizona’s College of Applied Science & Technology, located on the Sierra Vista campus, a Director of National Intelligence designated Intelligence Community - Center for Academic Excellence (IC-CAE), is seeking a Limited-Term Adjunct Instructor to teach undergraduate courses within our Intelligence & Information Operations program. A limited number of courses are available to teach each semester, contingent upon enrollment and funding. CAST is seeking candidates who can demonstrate outstanding teaching and course development consistent with the college's purpose, vision, and values and who enjoy working with a diverse, non-traditional student population. This position will contribute to building a strong team of culturally diverse faculty and staff who are committed to preparing traditional, post-traditional, and transfer students for success in a 21st-century workforce.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Knowledge of Interagency human intelligence collection techniques
•Knowledge of counterintelligence activities and operations
•Knowledge of document and media exploitation and sensitive site exploitation
•Knowledge of U.S. National Security Strategies and other strategic planning documents
•Skilled in online teaching and applying the ADDIE methodology for course development and delivery
•Skilled in writing human intelligence requirements, including directed source requirements
•Skilled in developing human intelligence collection requirements
•Skilled in human intelligence or information report writing
•Able to perform interrogation, informant, and/or human source/agent operations
•Able to perform Intelligence Support to Operations (not agency-specific)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Adjunct instructors are required to attend meetings and submit materials as requested throughout the term of appointment.
Develop/prepare course syllabi, assignments, and activities for course delivery.
Prepare and deliver course lectures/workshops.
Critique and grade student assignments and examinations.
Maintain regular in-person or virtual office hours and/or be available to students by appointment.
Additional duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, National Security, Strategic Studies, Political Science with a related emphasis, Cyber Threat Intelligence, or closely related field
Demonstrated experience in Human Intelligence Collection
Broad experience in intelligence collection operations
Experience in online teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

•PhD/D.Sc degree in Intelligence Studies, Cyber Security, National Security, Strategic Studies, Political Science with a related emphasis, Cyber Threat Intelligence, or closely related field is preferred but not required
Demonstrated experience in Intelligence support to Federal Law Enforcement, and Interagency/Joint Operations is preferred but not required.
•Demonstrated experience as an interrogator in law enforcement or military operations is preferred but not required
•Demonstrated prior online teaching experience is preferred but not required

Our Main and Health Sciences campuses are located near downtown Tucson.
