Position Highlights:The John and Doris Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences is seeking a Scientific Analyst I. This position will serve as a member of the Community, Research, Evaluation and Development team in supporting health and community based research and evaluation projects.

- Develops and maintains databases
- Conducts appropriate statistical analyses of large and small data sets
- Compiles and analyzes geospatial data and creates both interactive and flat mapping products
- Works closely with CRED team members on data interpretation and visualization
- Prepares periodic reports, such as progress, status, result, or other regular and special reports
- Develops data dashboards and other interactive data reporting products
- Provides technical assistance to CRED team staff in accessing data from various databases and systems
- Creates data acquisition and management plans for ongoing research and evaluation projects
- May supervise research assistants
- Excellent planning skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Bachelors degree
- 1 year work experience
• Masters degree
• 3 years work experience
• Experience in social science research methods
• Experience with geographic information systems
• Experience with data management best practices
• Experience with Excel, R, and other statistical software
• Experience with ArcGIS, Python, SQL, and other database management software and or programming languages
• Experience in grant writing, needs assessment, process evaluation and outcomes research
