Position Highlights:The University of Arizona College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST), an Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) designated Intelligence Community – Center for Academic Excellence (IC-CAE) located on the University of Arizona Sierra Vista campus, is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses within the Intelligence and Information Operations (IIO) program and to lead research in the fields of Intelligence, Information warfare, and Law Enforcement Intelligence. Consistent with the Dean's vision for Programs to contribute to interdisciplinary research and educational program innovation, the Tenure-Track Assistant Professor will support the Intelligence and Information Operations Program to contribute to the College’s strategy of cross-campus, national, and international multidisciplinary research, and educational initiatives. CAST is seeking candidates who can demonstrate outstanding teaching as well as the ability to develop new research programs consistent with the college's purpose, vision, and values. The Assistant Professor, Intelligence and Information Operations will contribute to building a strong team of culturally diverse faculty and staff who are committed to preparing traditional, post-traditional, and transfer students for success in a 21st-century workforce.

Duties & Responsibilities:- Maintain a workload typical for tenured faculty within the College of Applied Science & Technology, defined as 60% related to teaching, 20% related to research, and 20% related to service
- Teach undergraduate courses at multiple sites using a variety of formats including face-to-face, online, and interactive video/TV platforms
- Develop and sustain a strong, focused program of research consistent with the College’s purpose, vision, and values
- Teaching responsibilities include traditional course delivery, seminars, and independent studies, as well as creation and revision of course content
- Serve as a research mentor to undergraduate students
- Contribute to the service responsibilities of the College of Applied Science & Technology and the University of Arizona by through participation on committees and other appropriate activities
- Contribute to the College of Applied Science & Technology and University of Arizona’s development through appropriate outreach to local communities (including governmental units, businesses, nonprofits organizations, and community residents)
- Assist in the development of innovative approaches to enhancing student engagements, increasing diversity, and expanding collaborations with community and business partners
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong oral and communication skills
- Knowledge of or familiarity with Intelligence Operations
- Knowledge of or familiarity with Information Operations
- Knowledge of or familiarity with National Security Strategy
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Intelligence Studies, Information Warfare, National Security Studies, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Political Science with a related emphasis, Cyber Threat Intelligence, or closely related field
- Evidence of research training and/orpublications
- Prior teaching experience, including online teaching experience
- Strong research background with supporting evidence
- Experience with United States Government, National Security, or Intelligence Operations
