Position Highlights:

The James E. Rogers College of Law is seeking to fill the position of Instructional Designer I. As a member of a fast-paced, customer service oriented team, the Instructional Designer I is an entry level position that will work in a team with instructional designers, subject matter experts and multimedia specialists on the production, revision and maintenance of fully online, blended, flipped and hyrbrid courses. This position will be the main team contact for technical and logistical assistance for all College of Law instructors, staff and students. This position is responsible for a range of administrative and technical functions supporting online/distance education such as answering questions via phone, chat or email, troubleshooting, documenting and resolving technical issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical course support services for all faculty, staff and students through phone calls, chat requests, emails and personal contact.
  • Follow instructional design checklists to assist in the rollover, importation and launch of online courses in a timely manner.
  • Ensure course materials, activities, technology and assessments are current, relevant, and working inside courses.
  • Fix, maintain, update and support all College of Law online/distance education courses, educational technology applications and resources.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment and manage projects with multiple competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of integrating emerging technologies into an instructional environment.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance, accessibility issues and universal design principles.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain currency with emerging technologies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related discipline

Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in related discipline
