Job Summary Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for (1) English instructor for the 2021 Upward Bound Math/Science Summer Enrichment Program. Upward Bound Math/Science is one of six Federal TRIO Programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supplementing their existing education and preparing them for academic success at all educational levels. The Upward Bound Program Math/Science at Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves over 58 high school students from Upson Lee High School located in Thomaston, GA. The Summer Enrichment Program will be held on the campus of Gordon State College in Barnesville, GA. The English Instructor position is a temporary part-time non-exempt position that reports to the Upward Bound Math/Science Director. Applicants will provide classroom instruction to high school students that will be entering their sophomore through senior year in the Fall of 2021. Applicants will assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them Monday- Thursday.

Required Qualifications Bachelor or Master’s degree in related subject area. Two years of teaching experience/instruction at the high school or college/university level. Ability to work with diverse and underserved students.

Proposed Salary The position does not offer benefits and it pays $1200-$1600 Stipend for up to five (5) week Summer Enrichment Program.
