Hiring Department Registration & Degree Audit Responsibilities
Coordinates and directs the transfer credit business practices including course equivalency rules, decisions, exceptions, and evaluations. May collaborate and coordinate the operations within Degree Audit, participate in the General Education Committee and Core42 evaluations. Make recommendations and guide the University on policy recommendations for transfer credit and related operations.
- Performs routine course evaluations and equivalency rules within the Student Information System
- Coordinates (e.g., compiles, verifies, prepares) materials and information for committees and/or faculty as assigned
- Advises/provides support to current and prospective students in various subject areas
- Performs standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems
- Assists in the development and implementation of programs/projects according to plan and/or with guidance
- Works both individually and in teams
- Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions, and checks for understanding
- Develops working relationships with functional teams
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates and create transfer credit equivalencies for transfer students to UMSL.
- Maintain the accuracy of transfer rules in the course equivalence database and student records.
- Assist Academic Advisors and students with issues related to degree audit.
- Represent degree audit on the UMSL campus in committees and meetings as relates transfer credit.
- Act as backup for course entry and degree audit programming and other duties assigned.
- Two years of college level course curriculum knowledge.
- A reasonable comfort level with public speaking.
- An excellent level of speaking and writing skills.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solution and ImageNow software.
- Basic computer operation knowledge.
