Description of Work:The department invites applications for a data manager/biostatistician. This individual will apply modern advanced methods to the analysis of genetic and molecular data from first-in-kind prospective cohorts of trauma survivors, and will also utilize traditional biostatistical/epidemiologic methods to gain important new insights into the pathogenesis and trajectory of post-traumatic disorders. ideal candidate will have familiarity with multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling. This individual will assist researchers with power analyses and data analytic plans for grants. Further, this individual will work closely with clinical researchers in the department to analyze data, write results, and present findings in manuscript-quality tables and figures. This individual will have the opportunity for co-authorship on these manuscripts. For those interested and with relevant experience, there is also the opportunity to first author manuscripts. Similarly, for those interested and qualified, there are also opportunities for advancement within the department, such as to research faculty positions.
Education and Experience:Candidates should have at least a Master’s degree or preferably a Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Epidemiology or Biostatistics or related degree.
Qualifications required for this position include extensive knowledge of applied statistical and computational methods as well as data management skills. Ideal candidates would have experience in data analysis, processing/cleaning large datasets, and previous experience with statistical computing. Ideal candidates will have experience with longitudinal data analysis or repeated measures analysis.
