The UNC BATLab facilitates health behavior change through conducting technology-based research on all aspects of sexual health including factors that impact the acquisition, transmission, and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The UNC Behavior and Technology Lab is a part of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the University of North Carolina -Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the UNC Center for Global Health and Infectious Diseases.
This BATLab mHealth Research Manager will operate as a member of the BATLab research team by providing direct research managerial support to the design, implementation and evaluation of mHealth HIV (and COVID-19) prevention and care behavioral intervention research studies led by faculty investigators.
This position will provide oversight on the organization, conduct, and evaluation of the portfolio of BATLab HealthMpowerment (HMP) research studies. The position will manage and supervise all activities necessary to operate the HMP app (and associated projects) and administrative web dashboard. The range of responsibilities would include but are not limited to: project planning and administration, organizing and planning work operations, protocol and IRB development, database development and management, data/information collection and analysis, and manuscript and grant development. The position will serve as the principal liasion between the UNC research team, the technology development group and external collaborators. The position will also supervise BATLab staff at the level of Research Assistant and Research SpecialistEducational Requirements:
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.Qualifications and Experience:
-Must have the ability to follow established guidelines for assessing compliance with protocol and manuals of operational procedures.
- Experience working with tech/website developers in research/tech partnership settings.
-Ability to maintain professional ethics while consistently exercising discretion and confidentiality.
-Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and possess good problem-solving skills.
-Must be able to work independently
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel & Access.
-Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, which are required for interacting with project participants, data collectors and project staff and the ability to coordinate exchange of communication.
At least 3 years of experience in mHealth behavioral or clinical programs/research is highly desired.
Priority given to applicants with experience working in the field of mHealth development, implementation, and evaluation both in domestic and global settings – particularly low-and-middle-income countries.
Interest in the development and evaluation of technology-based interventions (e.g. use of smartphones, social media, internet) to improve health and wellness is preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer :
