The technician will work with a team to measure forest regeneration, groundlayer diversity, microclimate, soil respiration and plant physiology. Field work will be intensive (full-time) from May through September and then intermittent. The site is near Bent Creek Experimental Forest, Asheville, NCMinimum Experience/Education:
B.S. in forestry, ecology, botany (or related field of study) with 2-3 years of experience assisting in field studies (i.e., following protocols for field measurements, sample processing, data management).Department Required Skills:
Applicant must have experience and enthusiasm for field measurements.
Valid US driver’s licensePreferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:
Experience with identification of 200+ herbaceous and woody plants of the Southern Apps and/or with operating various instruments to measure photosynthesis, light, soil respiration, or sap flow is highly desirable.Required License or Certification:
