Position Summary:

The School of Music at UNC Greensboro invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Flute position beginning fall 2021 (August 1, 2021–April 30, 2022). We seek to diversify our music performance faculty by inviting applications from committed Artists/Teachers who are actively engaged in advancing equity and inclusion in their teaching. The position includes teaching undergraduate and graduate applied flute lessons and repertoire classes, supervising the flute studio teaching assistant, and serving on master thesis committees and the woodwind area committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree, evidence of artistic excellence in flute performance and pedagogy, collegiate teaching experience, demonstrated excellence in advancing equity and inclusivity in teaching and professional/creative practice, and experience mentoring diverse populations of students.

Preferred Qualifications:

A terminal music degree or equivalent professional experience and experience teaching graduate students.
