ECU Student Involvement and Leadership is currently seeking a Student Leadership Assistant for Hunger Initiatives. The SLA for Hunger Initiatives will lead our Campus Kitchen and Purple Pantry programs.

The SLA will be responsible for recruiting volunteers, leadership team members, and potential donors.

Additional tasks include:
•Lead Purple Pantry Volunteer Training for volunteers.
•Maintain communication with AmeriCorps VISTA, community partners, campus partners, and volunteers about Purple Pantry.
•Promote and market Purple Pantry to different stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, community partners, donors, etc).
•Manage Purple Pantry’s GivePulse page, a service management system.
•Oversee social media account for Purple Pantry.
•Manage inventory to create and coordinate deliveries
•Report to supervisor for meetings and complete Purple Pantry reports.
•Applicants must be willing to cover shifts for Purple Pantry that are not covered by volunteers, Monday-Friday 1:00-5:00 pm.
•Lead Campus Kitchen ECU (CKECU) team to plan and coordinate hot meals and hunger awareness events.
•Lead bi-monthly meetings to support CKECU Leadership Team members
•Maintain communication with community partners about meal nutrition schedules.

Rate of pay: $8.00/hour

This position is for Fall 2021 & Spring 2022
Work start date: August 23rd, 2021
Work end date: April 26th, 2022
