Job Summary/Basic Function: :

The Testing Center Coordinator will oversee, coordinate, and administer all testing in the Lee College Testing Center to include testing for, but not limited to: TSIA2, instructor exams, Pearson VUE (which includes GED), other community certification testing, and community testing (such as ACT and SAT).

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Testing Center to meet the scheduling needs of Lee College staff and students as well as the community.
  • Maintain records and test security/confidentiality of student records and the confidential nature of working with students with disabilities.
  • Investigate and determine testing to be provided to meet the needs of the campus and community based on available resources.
  • Identify staffing needs and supervises full and part time employees.
  • Create and monitor Testing Center budget.
  • Establish policies and procedures for the Center based on best practices.
  • Establish and maintain communication of Testing Center Services to the campus community to include the maintenance of the website and providing information to faculty on services.
  • Serve as the institutional Administrator for College Board which includes the oversight and monitoring of all Lee College TSIA2 testing (in the Testing Center as well as testing in the High Schools) to assure compliance of requirements.
  • Work with IT to maintain the technology necessary for the Testing Center to support specialized testing, ensure automatic uploading of test scores into PeopleSoft, and to implement other software to promote efficient testing services.
  • Assist in establishing testing outside of the Testing Center to include other labs on campus or off-site testing to support high school students in our service area. This includes, but not limited to, the approval of test rosters, the creation of testing vouchers, training of proctors, creating and sharing reports, and support billing, as needed.
  • Cooperatively work with both on campus services (to include recruitment, advising, counseling, nursing, the business office, and non-credit workforce programs) and community partners (high school TSIA2 testing).

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist faculty with special needs and support by providing test information and scheduling opportunities.
  • Negotiate transactions with other colleges (and non-Lee College students) for proctored exams.
  • Stay current with testing methods to meet college, student, faculty, and the community needs through memberships with testing organization and attending training when necessary.
  • Create and amend all forms, agreements, and applications regarding testing.
  • Maintain a welcoming, aesthetically appeasing appearance in the Testing Center for students and faculty while maintaining good customer service.
  • Be available even when out-of-office for testing issues or emergencies that may arise.
  • Travel to local area high schools to assist in the administration of TSIA2 testing.
  • Establishes and maintains contracts for standardized and/or certification testing for the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Excellent benefits accrue with this full-time position. This is a grant-funded position. The continuation of the position is based on the continuation of the grant and satisfactory job performance. This is a security-sensitive position.

Minimum Qualifications: :

  • Internal candidates only – Must be a current full-time or part-time employees of Lee College
  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree
  • Three (3) years of related work experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and other staff members
  • Ability to make balanced judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds including students with disabilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot situations and requests in a timely manner
  • Training required for certification testing (i.e., Pearson VUE)
  • Perform administrative duties in addition to administering all forms of testing
  • Lift/carry boxes weighing ten (10) to thirty (30) pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evening hours and weekends; may work more than forty (40) hours per week (i.e., during peak registration, for office coverage, or requested assistance outside of normal testing hours)

Preferred Qualifications: :

  • Bilingual – able to read, write, and speak both English and Spanish
