Physical Requirements:Requires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
Shift:Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Job Summary:The LPN will work as a member of the Urology Clinic. Duties will include: room patients, obtain and record vital signs; prepare patients for and assist with minor surgical procedures; perform wound care and/or suture removal. Will perform instrument disinfection, cleaning and sterilization per policy. Prepare requisitions and specimens for delivery to pathology and/or lab. At licensed provider direction communicate normal test results to patients. Obtain referrals, pre-certifications and ABNs as necessary. Perform telephone triage communicating with licensed provider for direction; triage requests for prescription refills. Schedule follow up appointments and lab appointments. Document in AEHR (Allscripts Electronic Health Record).
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Customer service, multi-tasking, experience in a fast-paced environment. Medical terminology, customer service, time management, ability to multi-task, verbal and written communication skills.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :No
Preferred Education/Experience:LPN license plus two or more years experience in a healthcare setting or assisting with related procedures preferred.
