Physical Requirements:Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods. Repetitive motion. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds, or standing/walking for long periods of time.
Shift:Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm and additional hours as necessary based upon crisis situations.
Job Summary:The Pediatric Forensic Nurse serves as a member of the Pediatrics healthcare team to enhance support for patients, families, providers and staff in the Forensic Pediatrics program at UK HealthCare. The Pediatric Forensic Nurse is critical to providing direct patient care to children who have suspected abuse/neglect and ensuring they receive the necessary nursing care and medical support to help them thrive. This person will work closely with the clinic Social Worker, providers and DCBS on suspected abuse and medical neglect referrals and will be required to testify in court on behalf of the information obtained through forensic interviews and investigation. This nurse will be required to complete specific training on physical and sexual abuse and serve as an expert in this field. SANE certification is preferred.
