Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Completion Certificate.

Position Summary:

This is skilled work in the forming and placement of concrete. Work is normally performed under the supervision of a foreman who issues oral and written instructions which may be accompanied by diagrams or sketches, and who inspects work during process and upon completion; however, some independent judgment is needed in determining operating methods. Duties which are routine in nature are performed with a significant degree of independence. Transports equipment and materials, repair grounds maintenance areas, streets, and roads. Prepares simple records and preforms equipment servicing and minor maintenance operations. Performs related work as required. Operates skidsteer and other grounds equipment related to concrete work. This work involves the building and repair of structures of brick, tile, stone and similar materials.

  • Ability to form and finish concrete.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Equipment and operation experience.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, sketches and visual instructions, evaluations and field layout.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand, stoop, squat, bend, walk, work with hands, work on standard and/or extended ladders.
  • Work under adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, cold).
  • Lift up to 75 lbs during a normal eight hour work shift.

Form sidewalk, steps and retaining walls.

Installs steel and/or wire reinforcing and expansion joints. Assist with concrete pouring. Participates in concrete finishing and scoring.
