Position Summary:

A Laboratory Technician position is available at the laboratory of Dr. Silvia N.J. Moreno located at the Coverdell Center for Biomedical Research ([email protected]). Dr. Moreno is a faculty of the Department of Cellular Biology and a member of the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases.

Duties/Responsibilities:

General laboratory chores, which include placing orders, supervising and training undergraduate students, assisting post-docs and graduate students with their experiments, disposal of biohazardous, chemical and radioactive waste, maintaining inventories.

Maintaining tissue culture cells used for the growth of Toxoplasma gondii and Trypanosoma cruzi.

Helping the PIs with writing animal, biosafety, chemical protocols. Developing SOPs for working with specific reagents.
