Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Math, Statistics, Human Resources, or related field. Two years of experience in a related field. Advanced computer skills, to include proficiency with Banner, Cognos, and Excel highly preferred. Reporting experience with IPEDS, Affordable Care Act, hiring and retention, and other Human Resources related reports is highly preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data on a wide range of human resource related topics. Performs moderately complex administrative, analytical program work for the Human Resources Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides coordination and support to management for required reporting and analysis functions in the Human Resources Department. Performs research and prepares analytical reports and provides recommendations on assigned subjects. Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the Banner human resource information system (HRIS), other third- party systems used by the department, and other sources. Determines data requirements, data sources and data collection methods. Designs, compiles, and analyzes data for trends and patterns. Designs, prepares, verifies, cleans, and submits and presents data and required reports for the Human Resources department, to include, but not limited to: IPEDS, Affordable Care Act, Affirmative Action Plan, hiring and retention reports, etc. Verifies and reconciles source data for accuracy and consistency. Confers with staff on complex issues and recommends changes in processes for improvement of data and reporting. Interprets policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed. Determines work priorities, evaluates work in progress, and ensures the meeting of deadlines. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, applicants, and other university departments, vendors, and off campus agencies on procedural and policy matters. Handles sensitive and confidential information ensuring compliance with university and system policies, and State and Federal legal requirements. Requires independent judgment, initiative, and attention to detail and accuracy in all assignments. Position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Travel to conferences may be required according to department needs.
