Job description

This position is in the Department of Facilities Management Services. This employee will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of GSU campuses buildings' BAS " Building Automation Systems" HVAC control and laboratory control systems.  Work will entail inspections, preventative maintenance, minor system modifications and installations as required for GSU multiple BAS platforms.  Duties will require BAS Programming and Graphic development and editing for continuous improvement of building HVAC systems' performance and energy efficiencies. Additional knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, and pneumatic systems. 

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:45 pm.


    Maintains, operates and modifies building automation system (BAS) as needed.  Performs regular reactive and preventative maintenance (PM) on HVAC and laboratoy control system components.  This includes scheduling PM work orders, initiating, warranty calls, reviewing and negotiating cost estimate and cost proposals prepared by contractors for material and services.  Optimizing building mechanical system operation to maximize energy usage efficiency.  Manage BAS system generated alarms, analyze trend data, run software tools to gather deficiency report and optimize BAS network performance, gather information for utility usage and analyzing for potential energy savings.  Maintanins accurate as built files, drawings, and O&M manuals.  Responsible for training Zone personnel for  the basic operations of Siemens, Johnston Control and ALC systems.  Developes and maintains the energy monitoring graphic interface for all campus buildings.Performs diagnostic test for all HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, pumps, primary air handling systems, terminal unit contollers, humidity controller's etc) and laboratory control system (fume hoods, venture valves, pressurizaztion control and tracking system components, etc.)  Works with mechanical maintenance personnel using diagnostic test reports, to repair HVAC systems.Performs maintenance and troubleshooting repair work for local pneumatic and electric HVAC control systems.Will coordinate and work with contractors on repairs, maintenance and coordinate with project managers for new construction projects.Performs quarterly inspection of large HVAC equipment and generate work orders for deficiencies to be rectified by Zone maintenance teams.Performs other assigne duties.

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
