Position: Resource Acquisitions Specialist (Library & Museum Associate 2) Department: University Libraries, Acquisitions & Continuing Resources Non-exempt; MR04 POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for providing library acquisitions and assisting with the management of collections. This position performs procurement functions for the purchase of library collection materials and is responsible for assisting with the management of the collections through support with inventory, cataloging and access. This position researches and identifies resources, initiates requisitions, assigns approved funds, and tracks and secures library collection materials through the acquisition process. This department provides access to materials that are critical to the teaching, learning and research missions of the university and its multiple sub components. - Researches products for availability, compliance with library guidelines and pricing.
- Prepares and submits requisitions for purchases and enters purchase requests into the integrated library system.
- Acquires materials and submits purchase requests to vendors.
- Acknowledges receipt of materials and compares invoices with purchase for accuracy.
- Enters invoice details in the online integrated library system, and receives material in library system for auditing compliance.
- Submits invoices to Library Business Services Office for processing.
- Contributes to the management of the library’s collection.
- Tracks the purchase of library collection materials through the online integrated library system, vendor and courier tracking services, and other systems analytics.
- Communicates with sellers and couriers to resolve complex problems with purchases. Accounts for the arrival and acceptable condition of library collection materials from sellers.
- Adds library collection materials to the online catalog and assists with troubleshooting problems related to material access.

- High school diploma or GED and one year of relevant education/experience.Customer service skills.Communication skills.Attention to detail skills.Problem-solving skills.Computer skills.Ability to learn specialized software.Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.Ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision and complete work in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degreeKnowledge of an Integrated Library System's acquisitions module.Knowledge of procurement practices
