Position Description:
Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator ("HR Coordinator") will manage various payroll functions and Human Resources activities between employees, departments, Central Campus units, and the UC Path Center for UCLA's School of Education & Information Studies.

Duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the timely and accurate review, preparation, processing and auditing of payroll, time and attendance, personnel, pay path, and workforce administration transactions. The HR Coordinator ensures accurate data entry and oversight of information related to payments requested to minimize processing errors. They will utilize campus data systems, such as CDW, to complete audits, identify errors, trends, and processing errors. The HR Coordinator works close with members of the Human Resources Staff and Business Office Staff to correct errors and identify opportunities to continuously improve the effectiveness, accuracy, and delivery of services.

The HR Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for payroll related inquires by employee, supervisors, Fund Managers, and unit heads. They will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and relaying campus policy as well as federal and state laws as they pertain to payroll. Additionally, the HR Coordinator, will serve as lead contact between employees and/or Human Resources, Central Campus Units and/or UC Path to reconcile issues pertaining to employees' records; review and audit data submitted to the Human Resources Office for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; and assist in the develop of department specific standard operating procedures and reference documents for use both internally and for public distribution. They will be responsible for escalating issues as needed.

Additional duties include: developing standard operating procedure documents and training tools for use internally in the HR Offices and distributed to units; developing systems and database to track hires, cases and outstanding actions to ensure timely follow up and compliance; drafting school wide communication; and supporting other members of the Human Resources Office as needed.
