Position Description:
The Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) is a part of the Office of Research Administration (ORA) which supports the UCLA research program by providing leadership, professional guidance and administrative services to faculty, department administrators, and students. The Contract & Grant Specialist is a member of a Contract & Grant Team handling various administrative and analytical tasks related to contracts and grants for research, public service and training projects supported by government (federal, state, county and municipal) and non-profit entities (foundations, educational institutions, research organizations).
Duties include addressing questions and concerns regarding existing contracts and grants; responding to requests for information from Principal Investigators, departmental staff, and agency personnel; the initial review and analysis of proposals ready for submission and incoming awards; the initiation of award set-up; the analysis of information to support the financial requirements, proposal requirements and business processes of Office of Contracts & Grants Administration (OCGA) as well as the University; and the coordination of submissions. Carry out research and special projects; communicate with staff and others throughout the University to define issues and expedite resolution; communicate with funding agencies on behalf of UCLA; and handle sensitive information, such as the coordination of conflict of interest disclosure forms.
