The primary task of the Director of Enrollment Management and Recruiting at Southern Union State Community College is to leverage innovative solutions and data analytics to execute strategic enrollment initiatives and outcomes; direct the recruitment and admissions activities on all three campuses by providing leadership that will promote the college in order to increase student enrollment, coordinate recruitment activities with area high schools; develop informational materials and services to prospective students, counselors and the community at large.  This position will plan, oversee, and direct the College’s enrollment management to ensure that enrollment goals and objectives, as outlined in the College’s Strategic Enrollment Plan, are implemented and fulfilled.

Salary:  Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule C3-1: (Salary range: $54,579 - $89,426)

  • Transcript of college work verifying degree requirement; must include degree awarded and date confirmed (Unofficial transcripts will be accepted before the deadline, but official transcripts must be received if employed.)

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Three (3) years of full-time work experience in recruiting at the post-secondary level is required.
  • Experience supervising/managing a staff is required.
  • Operating experience with Banner and Degree Works is required.


  • Experience in advising and admissions/records at the post-secondary level is preferred.


The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Develop, with the Dean of Student Affairs, policies, procedures, and budgets for the College’s recruitment and enrollment management programs.
  • Develop and implement a compressive college-wide recruiting and enrollment management plan.
  • Supervise and coordinate all recruiting and admissions staff and activities on all three campuses.
  • Assist in advising students during registration and regarding degree/certificate plans.
  • Develop, plan, and implement effective recruiting materials and strategies with the College’s marketing department.
  • Coordinate on campus advising sessions for new students and as needed in high schools and assist in coordination of college orientation programs, admissions seminars, etc., as requested.
  • Make contact with all area principals, counselors, and teachers and serve as liaison for the College.
  • Coordinate the process of creating and distributing information concerning the enrollment process and services to prospective students, counselors, and the community at large.
  • Develop and implement a college-wide enrollment management plan and ensure those goals are correlated with the College’s strategic plan.
  • Forecast, establish, and meet annual student enrollment goals for all divisions of the College.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive data inquiry system to maximize effective strategies of communication to student prospects.
  • Submit enrollment/recruiting reports to the Dean of Student Affairs and the President.
