Provides managed andresponsive operations necessary to meet mission needs through objectives andgoals while maintaining environmental health and safety. Supervisesconstruction and building maintenance technicians and skilled trade resources.Plans, oversees and coordinates construction and building maintenance annualand planned fiscal budgets, projects, and activities. Organizes workflow toensure timely completion of repairs and/or construction. Inspects work inprogress for compliance with plans and regulations. Participates inconstruction/maintenance work, as needed. Establishes accountability for energy consumption at every level oncampus. Responsible for developing andmonitoring the campus' energy management program under board‑level policy andcampus guidelines for the purpose of reducing utility consumption.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works with faculty, staff, or other constituents to help identify and resolve needs and potential project design to focus and promote retention on campus. Coordinates and manages the delivery of essential facility services by organizing technician teams in a logical, non-duplicative, and effective manner which best meets goals, requirements and mission of the University.
Establish appropriate training, development, policies and procedures that promote a strong service-orientation to students, faculty, and staff.
Facilitates the development of annual and long range fiscal budget and operational plan for anticipated repairs and renovations of University buildings and facilities, including master planning of utility infrastructure to maximize efficiency of the current facilities while providing for future expansion, by analyzing the data from facilities audits, understanding the impact of repairs and/or renovations on existing mechanical, electrical, structural, and related systems, and recommending the appropriate priorities for repairs and renovations. Assists Purchasing Department in creation of bid specifications as needed for various projects.
Provides for a safe campus environment by directing the development of appropriate contingency plans that anticipate requirements for emergency conditions and includes the use of contracted services beyond the University's capability to provide needed services and remediation. Provides managed and responsive operations necessary to meet mission needs through objectives and goals while maintaining environmental health and safety.
Serves as campus liaison to OSU-Stillwater Long Range Facilities Planning, OSU-Stillwater Construction and Contract Services and other entities on campus projects and activities.
Surveys assigned work areas to determine maintenance or construction needs; inspects work in progress to ensure compliance with plans and regulations.
Provides leadership and supervision to Facility Operations team including training, evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary if needed. Trains staff on safety practices and regulations; ensures staff maintains safety precautions and guidelines. Trains staff and ensures the proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and tools.
Plans, oversees and coordinates construction and building maintenance annual and planned fiscal budgets, projects, and activities. Organizes workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs and/or construction.
Participates in construction/maintenance work, as needed. Oversees work order system and establishes team metrics to ensure desired outcomes.
Supports campus emergency management team as active member.
Creates, maintains, and audits a maintenance schedule for campus systems and areas.
Establishes tracks, promotes, and supports an ongoing energy conservation program in cooperation with the OSU A&M System. Provides input and advice on contractual support activities related to energy management and the purchase of any products that affects energy consumption.Maintains all energy and water consumption records and data in addition to attending various meetings related to OSU-Oklahoma City’s energy management program(s).
Coordinates regular “walk‑through” audits of all the campus’ facilities to insure operating efficiency, optimum educational environment, and compliance with campus energy policy.
Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development days each year.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Associate Degree or equivalentyears of experience and/or licensures. Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building construction and maintenance.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity involving responsibility for planning and overseeing projects, and directing the construction activities of skilled workers in a commercial or business setting.
Must have validOklahoma Driver’s License Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required:
- Thorough knowledge of the practices, regulations, materials, machinery, tools and equipment used in construction work.
Ability to plan, coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of skilled workers in the building trades.
Ability to direct construction from blueprints or drawings.
Strong fiscal management, experienced in organizing and coordinating skills; knowledge and skill in planning, organizing resources, scheduling work assignments, and establishing priorities.
Knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office and other computer-based programs and project related software such as Microsoft Visio, Project and/or AutoDesk (CAD).
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions to be taken in various building trades.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor.
Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalentyears of experience and/or licensures. Experiencemanaging construction and maintenance duties in a public school system or inany agency or business that has multiple buildings and maintenance.1-3years experience with Microsoft Visio, Project and/or AutoDesk (CAD).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email.
May occasionally work with chemicals. Protective mask and other impervious Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on all construction jobs as posted and as the situation dictates.Frequent local travel may be required.
- Must be able to handle high volume of phone calls. emails and in person inquiries.
Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be able to drive to and from various otherlocations.
Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking, listening and computer usage.
May require occasional bending, stooping, climbing and lifting. Requires adequate dexterity to operate tools and equipment required for job.
May need to lift up to 45 pounds. If an object weighs more than 45 pounds, OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift.
