Job Description Summary

Job Description

This is a full-time position with the Penn Injury Science Center (PISC), Perelman School of Medicine, and University of Pennsylvania. The PISC has ongoing research in the prevention and control of injuries.

The Project Manager position will support research projects and grants administered in the Penn Injury Science Center (PISC). The position will be responsible for coordinating all research operations across the research core, training core, and outreach core. This position will be responsible for coordinating and conducting activities on select research projects that are conducted in conjunction with the PISC. These responsibilities will vary from study to study and may include leading research group meetings with participating faculty, trainees, and study sites; onboarding new sites to studies that include multiple institutions; developing and updating study IRB protocols; managing study progress tracking software; writing project reports; organizing timelines for deliverables and future grant submissions; organizing drafts of manuscripts for peer review; coordinating grant submission activities; and additional day-to-day operations as needed. This position will work closely with Dr. Douglas Wiebe and Sara Solomon in all aspects of the Center's grant management, including identifying new funding opportunities, drafting letters of intent, and creating and compiling grant proposals. This position will be the primary individual responsible for study/research operations in PISC, and the primary liaison to the business office for the PISC; will also be the operational contact for all of the Center's internal and external grants, including current grants from the Centers for Disease Control, NIH, Office of the Provost, RAND, and Ivy League-Big Ten Epidemiology of Concussion Study. The position will also be responsible for the supervision and training of Jr Research Coordinators, as well as student trainees across all projects.

Position is contingent upon funding.

The job pay range encompasses the full range of employees from new hires to the salaries of Penn employees with many years of experience and seniority and is not a precise indicator of salaries of new hires when looking at the top end.

Qualifications
Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidate should be organized, professional, and have the ability to multi-task. Master's degree in a social science discipline preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Office products is a must. Candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidate will have superior organizational skills, have the capacity to handle multiple tasks, possess strong project management skills, and coordinate activities of staff and trainees. Data management skills are a plus. Ability to work in a diverse multi-disciplinary environment needed. Experience in research regarding public health, injury, violence, and geography a plus. Ideal applicants will demonstrate strong leadership and professional skills.
