This position processes and tracks student progress in the Teacher Education Program and coordinates field experience placements in public schools for practicum and student teaching. The program coordinator serves as the recommending officer for the State of Iowa and completes the annual state and federal reports. This position also provides administrative and clerical support to the Department of Education. The appointment period for this position is from August 1 - June 10 annually.

    Bachelor's Degree required. Experience working in public schools a plus. Preferred skills include excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. A successful candidate will have the ability to take personal/professional initiative, prioritize tasks, handle multiple demands simultaneously and to a conclusion, and engage others in solutions as appropriate. They will also have the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality, possess a knowledge of general office procedures and equipment, including the ability to use various office software programs, enter data and manage databases, and maintain web pages.
