Job Summary

This posting encompasses all coaching positions for Georgia Tech Athletics. The primary purpose of these positions is to contribute directly to an intercollegiate sports program by building an environment that inspires and empowers student-athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Evaluating individual and team strengths and developing strategies for skill improvement. Support for all games, scrimmages, and practices. Leveraging technology for team development.Planning and supervising programs for player training, conditioning, and drug education and testing. Providing appropriate program safety requirements. Providing appropriate discipline for student-athletes for violations of team rules or GT Athletics regulations, or conduct impacting upon team matters, team policies or the reputation of GT Athletics.Monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes to facilitate pursuit of a baccalaureate degree. Recommending students for athletic grant-in-aid scholarships from GT Athletics. Directing sport program student-athletes to the appropriate resources for assistance regarding financial aid, academic advisement, and general student needs provided by GT Athletics or the Institute.Developing strategies for the sports program to achieve sustained intercollegiate competitive excellence.Recruiting student-athletes for the sports program.Promoting an atmosphere of compliance within the sport program. Cooperate with the Athletics compliance office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements. Make a determined effort to utilize available compliance resources.Participating in public relations and promotions for the sport program as assigned, and supporting the Communications and Public Relations department in the preparation of sport program materials and resources. Partnering with The Alexander-Tharpe Fund as needed in fundraising efforts to support the sport program and GT Athletics, including encouraging contributions.Expending operational resources budgeted to the sport program in a manner consistent with GT Athletics policy. Preparing and updating the equipment inventory for the sport program in partnership with the equipment manager. Overseeing or executing team operations, including logistics and travel. Representing GT Athletics as requested with efforts and initiatives involving Institute partners, including the Alexander-Tharpe Fund and Alumni Association, and with intercollegiate athletics organizations such as the NCAA and ACC. Developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents.Exhibiting the GT Athletics core values of character, excellence, teamwork, and innovation. Promoting these values throughout the organization with a focus on fulfilling the GT Athletics mission.

Required Qualifications
    Education: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experienceWork Experience: Minimum two years of job related experience; coaching experience in intercollegiate athletics strongly preferred
