General Summary

The purpose of this position is to oversee all instructional and operational aspects of the Nursing Simulation Laboratory for pre-licensure and graduate students. The Director of Nursing Simulation collaborates with the associate and assistant deans, course and sequence leaders, faculty and students to create a positive learning opportunities. This person serves as co-chair of the Clinical Simulation Initiative ad hoc, and a member of the Pre-licensure Program Committee, MCN Leadership Team and Technology Steering Committee.

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in related field (with Bachelor’s degree in nursing)
2. Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
3. Two (2) years nursing experience.
4. Excellent clinical communication and organizational skills.
5. Current knowledge of patient simulation technology.

Desired Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.

Work Hours

The core work hours of this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours.

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

2. Ability to use a computer in day-to-day work (i.e. type on a keyboard and use a mouse).
3. Ability to maintain a high level of concentration.
4. Ability to conduct or attend meetings in various locations on and off campus.
5. Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects.
6. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
