Summary of Duties:
The primary function of this position is to perform professional duties in the field of grant and contract accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring expenses are allowable, allocable, reasonable and consistent. The incumbent will serve as lead for Fiscal Analyst 1 and Fiscal Analyst 2 positions who are responsible for monitoring, reconciling, billing and reporting requirements for federal, state and local agencies. The incumbent will perform accounting duties related to the administration and post-award financial reporting of sponsored projects. The incumbent will prepare financial reports analyzing, interpreting and summarizing data in accordance with the specific agency’s terms and conditions. The incumbent will be responsible for requesting funds from various agency systems per agreement terms.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint to create spreadsheets, graphs, charts and reports, prepare presentations, conduct data analysis and manage information efficiently.
Experience analyzing complex financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Experience with research grants and contracts.
Experience leading the work of others.
Experience auditing and reconciling complex financial data.
Experience with the WSU accounting systems, specif-cally FACTS and BALANCES Systems and the Data Warehouse System, including the ability to build specific Webi queries.
