High School diploma earned. Must be enrolled as a UK student for either the Summer or Fall 2021 semester.Required Related Experience:
Must be able to sit at the Circulation Desk computer terminal for several hours at a time. Must have the ability to lift books and journals that could weigh up to 30 pounds, place them on a book cart, push cart to bookshelves and shelve them.Shift:
Monday-Friday: 8am to 8pm;
Saturday: 10am to 6pm;
Sunday: 12pm to 8pm.
(Various shifts available during the open hours’ time-frame. Total hours per week TBD.)
Job Duties: staffing the Circulation service desk which includes answering & transferring phone calls, greeting walk-in customers, giving directions, searching for library materials in InfoKat Discovery, charging & discharging library materials using ALMA, and explaining library policies. Other duties as assigned.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Data entry and other basic computer skills, attention to detail, proper phone etiquette, good verbal communication, and excellent customer service. Must be willing to read and respond quickly to supervisor’s emails.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
