The Penn Environmental Innovations Initiative is seeking a full-time fellow for a six-month position to support strategic planning research. The Fellow will work closely with the senior director of the Initiative, as well as the faculty directors and select staff and students across the university. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Conduct an assessment to determine how Penn’s teaching and research connect to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Using an established methodology, create a report on aggregated conclusions as well as a searchable database of faculty. • Conduct a landscape analysis of peer programs. Starting with analyses conducted in 2017 and 2018, develop a report to establish best practices in interdisciplinary environmental initiatives, help refine the niche of the EII, and identify possible partners. • Help with scheduling meetings and gatherings related to the development of the strategic plan and EII programming. • As-needed, help with writing and editing for EII publications and online platforms.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this short-term position has recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. Preferred qualifications include: • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Strong experience with data management and analysis. • Ability to work with a diverse constituency, including staff, students, faculty, and other community members. • Demonstrated writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Administrative, planning, organizational, and project management experience. This position will ideally start in April and end in October, but there may be some flexibility for the ideal candidate.
