This is manual work at the journeyman level in the repair, maintenance, and installation of roofs and flashings. Work involves repairing, maintaining, and removing roofs and the installation of new ones. Assignments are received through oral instructions prior to and during the progress of a job. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion.Physical Demands:
*Frequently bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs and work with hands above the head.
*Lift up to 50 lbs, load and unload necessary equipment.
*Work from a standard and/or extended ladder.
*Perform necessary labor in adverse climate (hot, cold, and adverse weather conditions) throughout work shift (8 hour day/40 hour wk).

Inspect composition shingles, slate shingles, roofing tiles, built-up and metal roofs for leaks.Percentage of time:

Repair flashings around roof top, equipment curbs and penetrations.Percentage of time:
Install new roofs, flashings, curbs, roof insulation, felts, bitumen coatings. Apply cold process roof coatings and penetrations. Remove old roofs as needed.Percentage of time:
Respond to calls about leaks during heavy rains. Determine roofing materials needed for repairs.Percentage of time:
