Instructor in Histology
Part-Time (50%),  (Aug. – Dec. 2021)

Job Description: This is a position in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, School of Medicine. The position will direct a 4 credit hour course in Human Histology for 24-28 students in the Master of Science of Modern Human Anatomy (MSMHA) Graduate Program in the Department  of Cell and Developmental Biology. 

Job Duties:

1. Remote and in-person lectures, laboratory and other classroom activities appropriate for the teaching of Histology.
2. Oversight and organization of TAs assigned to this course.
3. Student advising as it related to the course.
4. Course administration including examination and evaluation

Applicants must have experience in teaching and knowledge of histology as applied to human biology. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in the teaching of histology at a graduate or medical level.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $65,000-72,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated knowledge of human histology.
• M.S. degree or higher (e.g. Ph.D., M.D., D.O.,  D.D.S.) in a relevant field

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to applicants with experience as a course director and those familiar with Canvas learning management system and virtual histology lab platforms.
• Previous experience teaching at graduate or medical level.
• Excellent communication, time-management and interpersonal skills.
