GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Public Space Attendant is responsible for keeping building in a clean and orderly condition. They perform ongoing cleaning as well as heavy cleaning duties. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of needed repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Center for Hospitality Arts, and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.

Lead- regardless of title, through positive influence. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend to the needs of all guests.Service, clean, and supply restrooms.Maintain compliance with required training.Serve as a professional role model.Coach and nurture students.Clean building floors. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.Mix chemicals according to specifications. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs. Requisition supplies and equipment. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.Regular and consistent attendance at work.Perform other related work duties as assigned. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a hotel setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, lifting up to 100 pounds. Frequent (34-66%) climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, lifting up to 50 pounds. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Post high school degree.2 years full time experience in a related hospitality setting.Equivalent education and related work experience.Completion of the core assessment of the Skills Advantage WorkKeys Program.
