Position Summary:

William & Mary is seeking a trained Electrician to provide electrical maintenance repair and support for all facilities.

Required Qualifications:

•High School graduate or equivalent.
•Valid driver’s license.
•Substantial electrical experience.
•Extensive knowledge in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the electrical trade as well as State and National codes related to electrical maintenance and construction.
•Demonstrated ability to interpret construction specifications and drawings and conduct research using vendor submittals.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
•Demonstrated ability decide on means and methods of task accomplishment on work orders with general guidance by supervisor; determine materials and parts required to complete tasks; order parts from storeroom; and coordinate schedules and appointments with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Basic computer skills
•Master Electrician’s License.

Conditions of Employment::

This position is subject to overtime and schedule changes and may be required to work shifts during weekends, holidays, and special events.

Incumbent will be required to participate in the Facilities Management “on-call” program.

This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the University is officially closed, and is subject to overtime.
