Planning & Program Support
Plan, organize, schedule and conduct a variety of program activities and events for the recruitment, training and retention of City of Jacksonville Parks and Recs adult and youth volunteers. On-board volunteers. Recruits recreational centers/parks for program
Plan, organize, schedule and conduct a variety of youth program activities and events in community centers. Teach groups of youth utilizing prepared curricula. Prepare demonstration materials to aid in the presentation of youth development training for COJ staff.
Recruitment of Park and Rec youth participants to 4-H community members.
Learn UF and county 4-H financial transactions and processes.
Group enrollment tracking
Enter data in 4-H Online to track program participants. Assist youth and volunteers with enrollment and event registration in 4-H Online. Maintain records of programs and youth participants and provide report to County Extension Agent for end-of-the-year reporting.
Training & Travel
Develops and improves knowledge of 4-H youth development subject matter, becomes proficient in determining clientele needs, understands various methods of reaching and teaching clientele, and develops proficiency in using 4-H youth development materials via participation in orientation training, continuous on-the-job training and self-study.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Prepares and administers budgets and reports. Balances and maintains bank accounts.Expected Salary:
$15 - $20.59/hour, Commensurate with ExperienceMinimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with teaching communications public relations, or volunteer management Background
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Experience working with diverse youth and adult audiences.
Knowledge of records management principles.
Time Management skills
Customer service skills
Ability to operate a computer and knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.

This is a time-limited position.
Verbal and written instructions for training purposes, program delivery, and procedural forms. Additional instructions on an as-needed basis. Must be able to work independently and in a team. This position reports to the 4-H Youth Development Agent with daily activities assigned by 4-H Youth Development Agent
TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE
This employee will work various hours depending on upcoming events. Office hours are 8:00 to 5:00 with an hour lunch, M-F. Some evenings and weekends are required.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position. For purposes to travel to county, district and state events and other duties assigned. Background check and fingerprinting required.Health Assessment Required:
