- Direct and manage (2) program managers and (1) development coordinator including the operational and administrative services of the Cancer Team.
- Provide management support to the infrastructure leadership team as necessary to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the effective functioning of the Major Gifts team.

- Supports the cancer teamâs strategic planning process by tracking on deadline dates, developing templates, preparing data and analyzing data. Supports follow-up of the plan on a quarterly basis.
- Develops and maintains overall cancer dashboard for progress against goal for each department/division.
- Provides strategic reporting and data analysis to track on strategic plan goals and progress.
- Develops and maintains overall dashboard for progress against goal for each department/division.
- Maintains grateful patient data for the team, and runs regular grateful patient reports for the Director and team to source new prospects.
- Tracks and monitors the overall finances for the cancer team, including contracts.
- Manages and implements the acknowledgement process for SCI.
- Acts as the program manager for the Director, and provides program management support as needed to other gift officers on the team.
- Coordinates and manages overall events arc for the cancer team, and provides event support for the Director, acting as the data and briefing partner when needed.
- This includes list creation and review, invitations, acknowledgements, other material creation, event logistics, and briefings. This is done in partnership with key partners and owners, including partner teams, faculty, volunteers, MGO staff, events staff and donors. Responsibilities also include proactively analyzing faculty grateful patient data across cancer and makes recommendations for inclusion and working with the research team on the timely execution of ratings and assignments of leads to MGOâs for new prospects. This requires a high degree of sensitivity, diplomacy and professionalism in working with these groups.
- Works closely with volunteers and manages unique aspects of lists, messaging and updates.
- Serves as the lead for all donor requests for third-party cancer fundraising events or other non-major or leadership level donors that require special attention. Works directly with donors, faculty to ensure donors are supported and Stanford guidelines are followed.
- Develops event collateral and templates for the team to create efficiencies and standardizations.
- Provides prospect research to the Director, and drafts briefings as needed for donor meetings and development events.
- Supports the Senior Director in the preparation of prospect communications, outreach letters and faculty and research collateral.
- Liaise with partner teams to establish best practices and share best practices and procedures with the team to enhance efficiencies and standardization. Ensure coordination between partner teams, gift officers and infrastructure team members.
- Conducts portfolio analysis across the team to ensure communication and coordination between gift officers, partner teams, faculty, leadership and the Office of Development.
- Partners with Director to manage the planning and implementation of the Cancer Council meetings. Supports in material development, editing and review (including agenda, power point presentations). This also includes support to the Major Gift Committee meetings.
- Summarize and take responsibility for key action items, distributing information and managing follow-up.
- Supports 1-2 gift officer in the preparation of draft briefing materials, letters, faculty bios and overviews and other communication for faculty, donors or volunteers.
- Coordinates with the appropriate MCD team and ensures projects are on track and consistent with developed strategy.
- Bachelorâs degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of three years of program management, administration or operations experience; five or more years desired.
- Experience managing and coordinating complex projects that have multiple tasks with competing deadlines; set priorities and schedules and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
- Experience managing teams is preferred.
- Development event or conference experience.
- Nonprofit or relevant business experience.
- Positive, can-do attitude and dedicated work ethic.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, research and editorial skills; ability to synthesize information and compose clear and effective prose.
- Superior organizational skills; a work style that is thorough, accurate and detail-oriented; the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to details and the ability to quickly understand and remember details about donors and projects to which they are assigned.
- Strong customer-service focus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to work patiently, persuasively and effectively with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, donors and alumni.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.
- Excellent technical skills: expertise in Excel, Word, web resources, and donor management databases; experience using Stanfordâs information systems such as PostGrads and CARD is a plus but not required.
- An understanding of the development and alumni enterpriseâparticularly within an academic settingâand the ability to work within that framework is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating groups of diverse individuals.
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk.
- Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class driverâs license.
- May require working flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle Code and Stanford University driving requirements.
