Program and Fellowship Coordinator 🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United States📁Student Services📅Apr 01, 2021 Post Date📅89009 Requisition #The Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign in the School of Medicine provides health technology innovation training to teams of doctors, engineers and business students who identify a medical need, develop an invention to address it, and create plans for delivering the technology into patient care.Stanford Biodesign is seeking a Student Services Specialist to provide a full range of administrative and operational duties working under general supervision. The Program and Fellowship Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations and Finance and supports the Fellowships Manager. This position is a critical role within the Center with two primary focus areas: supporting the general office operations and assisting the Center’s premier training programs. This role and has potential for growth and expanded responsibilities. The Center for Biodesign Program and Fellowship Coordinator interacts with all levels of faculty, biodesign industry leaders, trainees and staff and often sets the first impression of the Biodesign center. An optimistic, cheerful, can-do attitude is required. Biodesign team members work cooperatively supporting each other to ensure programs and events are successful. Duties include:
- Review documents and forms for completeness, track files for follow up and distribute for review.Maintaining an effective system of organization to assist collaboration with other staff.Research and resolve routine issues, refer complex issues to other staff.Input data, update electronic databases, web sites, literature, and associated materials. May collect, gather and validate data, prepare basic reports.Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, meetings, and events.Respond to routine inquiries from students, faculty, external constituents, and staff.Serve as a subject matter resource to students and other departments.Contribute to general office administration and process improvements.May train and direct day to day activities of student and temporary workers.Initiate and track orders of supplies, textbooks, and other items; follow-up with vendors or staff when needed.
- Two year college degree and one year of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Box, online vendor accounts.Customer service skills.Basic office administration skills.Ability to learn compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.Organized and detail oriented. Maintains a positive attitude and team oriented approach.Prior Stanford experience a plus.Flexibility and willingness to assist colleagues with events and projects when needed.
- Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
