Position Information: Description

The Partner Engagement Manager position will be responsible for developing and managing business relationships with customers, UAS manufacturers and operators, government and other stakeholders. This includes tracking, maturing, and proposing opportunities for commercial and public customers of Northern Plains UAS Test Site and the Vantis UAS network. This individual will be responsible for increasing the value of current partners while attracting new ones through becoming a UAS Subject Matter Expert (SME), maintaining good working relationships, identifying leads, communicating services, creating/managing an opportunity funnel, and filtering/prioritizing opportunities. Given the UAS industry is always evolving, this position will need to identify and track trends, and work with customers to understand and help build business cases for advanced UAS operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner Engagement
    • Develop and maintain successful relationships with prospects and existing partners, customers, UAS manufacturers and operators, government, and other stakeholders through:
      • Researching organizations and/or individuals,
      • Returning inquiries received by the NPUASTS through E-mail, phone calls and/or in-person meetings,
      • Arranging meetings as necessary.
    • Create/manage an opportunity funnel and filter/prioritize opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Directors and Program Management on business strategy and opportunities to determine objectives.
    • Perform government and public relations activities to include supporting trade shows, conferences, and other business development activities.
    • Perform daily business development efforts by:
      • Writing and coordinating engagement strategies for NPUASTS and Vantis,
      • Managing business development risks and issues, and track corrective measures,
      • Identifying/tracking UAS industry and FAA trends,
      • Creating charts, graphs, and other materials as needed to support successful business development,
      • Traveling to client meetings, conferences, or other required events.
    • Foster stakeholder/partner relations to include liaison with local and state economic development organizations.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Business Development
    • Work with customers to understand and help build business cases for advanced UAS operations.
    • Lead business opportunities proposal efforts to include tracking, maturing, and proposing opportunities for commercial and public customers of Test Site operations and the Vantis UAS network.
    • Shape initial concepts and research projects with clients to define statements of work.
    • Coordinate and work with Research Director and Project Managers during proposal writing, proposal submission, and through project award.
    • Support creation of new marketing materials.
    • Assist Business Director with client contracting efforts.
    • Write and coordinate engagement strategies for NPUASTS and Vantis.
Required Competencies

  • Proven ability in using standard office computer technologies including Microsoft Office and Internet resources to prepare reports and proposals.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to perform without direct supervision, with the ability to use independent judgement regarding work priorities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in busy work setting.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of clients.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • 4 or more years of business development experience.
  • Experience working with customers/stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as required.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
  • Export Control Compliance: This position requires compliance with U.S. government export control laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience working in UAS/aviation field.
  • Experience developing UAS/aviation business opportunities and strategies.
  • Experience with interagency collaboration at the state and local levels.
  • Experience performing government and public relations activities.
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$57,000+ annual, Full time, Exempt, Benefited
